Jan-Joost Rueb is serial entrepreneur and (angel) investor in several start-ups. He has co-founded and managed eBuddy, the pioneer in mobile messaging with over 400M users. Before this he was one of the early employees at Arbinet New York from its start-up in 1999, leading to a successful NASDAQ IPO in 2004. Jan-Joost Rueb holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration from Groningen University.

Steven Otto

CEO at InReturn Capital

Partner and serves as CEO for East Africa at Jacana Venture Partnership LLC. Mr. Otto heads up the East Africa team in Nairobi. Mr. Otto was Managing Partner and served as the Chief Executive Officer of InReturn Capital. He co-founded InReturn in 2008, setting up the Fund and inaugurating operations in Kenya. Mr. Otto headed up InReturn’s East Africa team. He is an entrepreneur with deep experience in trade, retail, and production.

Gigi Wang

Gigi Wang is a leader in global entrepreneurship and innovation and heads up MG-Team, LLC, a consulting firm focusing on entrepreneurship and innovation programs. She is an Industry Fellow & Faculty at UC Berkeley’s Sutardja Center for Entrepreneurship and Chair Emeritus of the VLAB (formerly MIT/Stanford Venture Lab), and on the advisories board of Mobility Ventures, iGlobe Partners and others.

Willem Haitink

During his 17 year career at Nike he held various senior management positions around the globe. As VP EMEA of Converse he led the transition from a licensing model to fully owned distribution. From 2005 through 2010 he was GM/VP of Nike Greater China. From 2011 through 2016 he was global CEO of O’Neill, a privately held lifestyle company, which he successfully turned around into a profitable and growing business. Recently he was Vice President EMEA for Tesla, where he led the growth of the Tesla business across the region, building the European team, growing the distribution and expanding into new markets.

Marco Romein

Owner and founder of Snijpunt

On June 1, 1998 the adventure of Marco started under the name Rainbow Snijpunt. As part of a graduation assignment, Marco wanted to create added value for the products of the then newly established growers’ association Rainbow. Even though Snijpunt has worked independently all these years, there has always been close cooperation with the growers’ association. Which moreover, was also included in cooperative Harvest House after several mergers. The cooperative that Snijpunt also belongs to since May, 2 of this year. Again, under the same flag as Rainbow, with which the original plan comes into effect.

Onno Bakker

Onno Bakker was born and studied in Rotterdam, serial entrepreneur and Angel investor Onno Bakker co-founded eBuddy in 2003, the first web browser based instant messaging service. Although the service remained relatively unknown in the Netherlands, eBuddy has been over 9 years offering Chat and messaging products for hundreds of millions of users worldwide. eBuddy has been purchased by accommodation booking platform Booking.com at the end of 2013. Most recently, Onno Bakker served as Advisor to Booking.com.

Chang Ng, who earned a degree in Financial Economics, began his career at Cap Gemini Ernst & Young in 2000, where he worked as a Mobile Consultant for two years. Since 2002, Chang Ng has been founder and CEO of Mconomy BV, a retail service wholesaler specialising in accessories for smartphones and tablets. The company operates in a total of 9 countries.

Daniel Legro

Started his career in investment banking in 1998, working in the M&A transaction team of Merrill Lynch & Co. in London and San Francisco. Co-founded Chestnut in 2002 continuing his career in the execution of M&A transactions, financings and restructurings with a focus on mid-market firms. During his tenure in San Francisco, Daniel focused exclusively on the technology space.

Pleun Broere

Entrepreneur since 1990 after 3 years working in Philips Telecom.  Main activity in 25 years entrepreneurship was licensed production, marketing and sales of footwear collections of both private labels and brands. Working as angel-investor in high-tech startups, advises on M&A issues and develops commercial real estate. Pleun Broere has a bachelor degree commercial economics at HES Rotterdam.
